But last night I heard…

Grandma to Mama & Baba: jaldi se ab is ka koi Bhai ya behan lao, jora mukamal karo..koi tu ho Jo is k sath khele…

Being Treated Untouchable

An adolescent girl was not admitted to the school because she is HIV Positive…. A local magazine reported

Stigma attached to anything makes it unbearable. AIDS Day is celebrated on 1st December. “Community makes the difference” is the theme of 2019 UNAIDS

Stigma attached to this disease is the real challenge for the patients. However, let it be very clear that AIDS and HIV are different

“HIV (human immunodeficiency virus) is a virus that attacks cells that help the body fight infection, making a person more vulnerable to other infections and diseases. People with HIV can live long and healthy lives and prevent transmitting HIV to their sexual partners.”

VS

“AIDS(last stage of HIV) is a set of symptoms (or syndrome as opposed to a virus) caused by HIV. A person is said to have AIDS when their immune system is too weak to fight off infection, and they develop certain defining symptoms and illnesses. This is the last stage of HIV, when the infection is very advanced, and if left untreated will lead to death.”

Let’s make the world barrier free for ALL, but for that it’s important to unlearn those stigmas and ill practices which made persons with HIV positive, socially isolated.

HIV is not transmitted through touch, sweat, saliva or urine.

So, they are not untouchable.

Life..that ENDED

The night was COLD and DARK than usual

It was an old red-bricked building surrounded by dense bushes.

He was trying to fix a clock in the middle of silent corridors…

when the phone rang….

He: …murmured..why don’t people sleep..hmmm

“911, WHATS THE EMERGENCY?”…..

Caller: “after a lot of agony and pain, she started bleeding heavily..(sobbed)…..

AND the mother and the newborn, both could not survive”..

He: “Who’s calling?”

Caller:”The Newborn”

The night was COLD and DARK than usual.

A life should NOT end this way

While scrolling through the Facebook this morning, found this heart-wrenching video on UNICEF page… full of pain, helplessness but an eye opener TRUE story from Yemen-An Arabian western Asian country.

Every second, every day, every year, we fail to address demand for reproductive health and family planning services. Lives are lost, and girls’ opportunities to thrive and contribute to their country’s development shrink. These are real people.

Jenny Shipely

According to WHO, 830 women died everyday from preventable causes related to childbirth and 99 percent of these deaths occur in developing countries.

All lives are precious, shall not be destroyed due to lack of basic facilities. A well connected and functional family planning and sexual and reproductive health and right’s awareness, advocacy and provision of easy to access basic healthcare facilities will help in reducing newborn and mother’s death.

Because All lives are precious enough to be End this way.
